Mast Finance Sàrl — Effective date: 28 August 2026 — Version 1.0
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how subscriptions to the Mast platform (the "Service") provided by Mast Finance Sàrl ("Mast Finance", "we", "us") are cancelled, and how refunds are handled. It supplements the Terms of Service, in particular the Fees, Billing, and Renewal section, and applies to the plan and billing period you chose when you subscribed. Where a plan is arranged under an Order Form (practice and enterprise arrangements) and that document conflicts with this policy, the Order Form prevails.
1. Overview
1.1 The Service is a business-to-business (B2B) subscription. Cancellation stops the subscription from renewing; it does not, by default, trigger a refund of fees already paid for the current billing period.
1.2 Fees are the amounts shown for your plan and billing period when you subscribe, and the amount charged is the amount displayed. Mast Finance Sàrl is not currently registered for Swiss VAT, so no VAT is added. Should Mast Finance become VAT-registered, VAT will be added to the displayed price and shown separately before you confirm any payment.
2. How to Cancel
2.1 You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing settings page in the application. You may also request cancellation by writing to contact@mastfinance.io from the account owner's address or that of an authorised administrator. Plans arranged under an Order Form (practice and enterprise arrangements) are cancelled as that document provides.
2.2 Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The customer keeps access to paid features until that date, after which the account moves to the post-cancellation handling described in Section 6.
2.3 To avoid the next renewal, cancel before the renewal date. No notice period applies: cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access to paid features until that date.
3. Monthly Subscriptions
3.1 Monthly subscriptions are billed one billing period at a time. On cancellation, the subscription remains active until the end of the paid month and then stops renewing.
3.2 Monthly fees already paid are not refunded and not pro-rated for the unused portion of the month. Your subscription stays active until the end of the month you have paid for.
4. Annual Subscriptions
4.1 Annual subscriptions are paid for a full twelve-month term in advance. On cancellation, the subscription remains active until the end of the paid annual term and then stops renewing.
4.2 Annual fees already paid are not refunded for the unused portion of the term. Your subscription stays active until the end of the annual term you have paid for. Mast Finance may grant a refund at its discretion in individual cases; any such refund is a goodwill gesture and does not create an entitlement for other customers or future terms.
4.3 The reduced rate for annual prepayment applies to the annual term as a whole. Early cancellation does not trigger any recalculation or repayment of that reduction.
5. Money-Back and Trial Framing
5.1 Mast Finance does not offer a money-back guarantee. Fees already paid are handled as set out in sections 3 and 4 above.
5.2 Free trials are governed by §9.9 (Free trials and free tiers) of the Terms of Service. A free trial is not a paid subscription, so no payment is taken and no refund arises. On expiry of a free trial, access to paid features ceases unless the customer subscribes to a paid plan. Customer Data then follows the lifecycle set out in the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy.
5.3 Where a trial converts to a paid plan, the first paid billing period begins at conversion and this policy applies from that point.
6. Data Export on Cancellation
6.1 Cancellation does not delete Customer Data immediately. Access to paid features continues to the end of the paid period; when that period ends, the account enters the lifecycle described in §13 of the Terms of Service and in the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy — data remains readable and exportable for 30 days, personal data is anonymised at Day 30, and the remaining financial data is permanently purged at Day 90. Cancelling therefore starts that clock.
6.2 The customer can export all tenant data at any time via Settings > Data Export, as described in the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy. Mast Finance strongly recommends exporting a complete copy before or at cancellation. Export reminders are sent to the billing or contact address on the account around Day 20 and again around Day 25 of the 30-day window, but running the export remains the customer's responsibility.
6.3 A customer who wants the account deleted rather than simply cancelled writes to contact@mastfinance.io from the account owner's address. Before Mast Finance confirms the deletion it offers a complete export of the Customer Data, which the customer may decline in writing. The same Day 0 / Day 30 / Day 90 lifecycle then applies.
6.4 The customer remains responsible for retaining its own accounting records for the period required by Swiss law (CO Art. 958f, generally 10 years), as set out in the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy. That obligation belongs to the customer as data controller, not to Mast Finance.
7. Fiduciary Plan (Quote-Based)
7.1 The Fiduciary plan is priced by individual quote rather than a fixed public price. Its fees, billing period, term, cancellation terms, and any refund arrangements are governed by the Order Form or written agreement signed for that plan and any special terms agreed there.
7.2 Where the Fiduciary Order Form specifies cancellation, refund, or notice terms that differ from this policy, those Order Form terms prevail. Absent contrary terms in the Order Form, the general rules in this policy apply.
8. Failed Payments and Involuntary Cancellation
8.1 If a renewal payment fails, our payment processor retries the charge and we notify you. If payment has still not succeeded after approximately seven days, the account becomes read only: your data remains accessible and exportable, but no new entries can be recorded. A final written notice is sent thirty days later. If the account is still unpaid sixty days after it became read only, the subscription is cancelled and Customer Data follows the lifecycle set out in the Data Retention & Account Deletion Policy. Settling the outstanding amount at any point before cancellation restores full access.
8.2 Suspension or termination for non-payment does not entitle the customer to a refund of fees already paid, and does not relieve the customer of amounts already due.
9. Taxes
Refunds, where granted, are calculated on the net fee. Any applicable taxes are handled in accordance with the applicable tax rules at the time of the refund.
